Kindness Full Stop
Go bravely where you have never gone before
It may be scary. It can be intimidating. I will be exhilarating. What a great feeling it will be to take that first step. You are brave and you can do it. It is new and it is unknown, and it is also extremely exciting. Is there a decision that you have been holding off making? Be brave. Is there a conversation that you have been hesitant to have? Be brave. Can you push yourself physically to a place that, although difficult, is extremely rewarding? Or, maybe what this saying means to you is that you should visit a place that you have never been or make a career move that you have always wanted. It is time to do it. Go somewhere, do something or create a moment that you have never had before and give yourself a big pat on the back when you do.
SMALL TASK: CLEAN A DRAWER OR TWO. We all have those drawers, most are in the kitchen or garage, that are in desperate need of attention. They started out with all like items, but it has now turned into a mess. First, take everything out. Lay all the items out by category or size or usage. Whatever sorting system works best for you. Next, it is time to purge. Do you need everything in the drawer? Take a hard look before you put it back. Make a pile of things you want to keep and put elsewhere. Now it is time to assess what you have left. Do you need dividers or maybe some containers to help make this a well-organized and usable drawer? Get what you need, put the items back and smile at what you have accomplished. Can you do this same thing to another one or two drawers? Yes, you can! You are on a roll!
SMILE MAKER: TAKE 30 MINUTES FOR YOU. Set aside time to do something you want to do. Time for you. Consider this extra time. Just stop. This is in addition to anything you already do for yourself like running or yoga. The 30 minutes I am talking about is a glass of wine in a peaceful place or sitting in the sun with a good book. Whatever it takes to recharge, do it today. There is certainly always something to do, but taking a pause to reflect, regroup and smile is one of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself. You will be better for yourself, better for your family and better for all you encounter. Please take time today to just do you.
