Live a Day that makes you Proud
These words are so profound. Contemplate what it means to be proud of yourself, proud of your actions and, as a result, proud of the day that you lived. When you look in the mirror are you pleased with person you are? When you think about how you handled the situations that arose today, should you have done something differently to get a more just and positive outcome? Reflecting on the entire day, is it one that you are satisfied with or is it one that you wish you could do over. If so, what would you do another way? Make changes that are necessary so that you have a better result tomorrow. After considering the decisions you made today or yesterday, act in the areas that need improvement. Learn from what has happened and strive to live a day that makes you proud every day.
SMALL TASK: CLEAN UP YOUR INBOX. This may or may not be a small task, but it is most definitely a necessary one. You have probably thought about this numerous times, but you may not have ever done it. I am not suggesting you delete everything. Go through each email and decide next steps. Does it need to go in a separate folder? Does the email need to be responded to or should you just delete it? The reason I include this task is because it can be a bit overwhelming to open your email and see such volume. Every day more appear, and the pile grows. Take an hour today and maybe another one tomorrow until you have gotten down to only the pertinent ones and the rest are either deleted or put in folders to be referenced later. It may be a bit of an arduous task but, will feel great when it is done!
SMILE MAKER: BAKE SOMETHING. Pick a recipe that you love already or have always wanted to try. A Cake? Filled Pastry? Muffins? Cupcakes? Does it have elaborate decorations? If not, can you add a decorative touch like maybe a unique shape? No matter what treat you decide to create, it will make your house smell glorious and bring a smile to your face and the faces of those other lucky souls who get to eat it. Be sure to even put on an apron, Choose the one with a funny saying on it. Crank up your favorite music and have some fun! This is not about the outcome; it is entirely about the process. Baking makes you slow down a bit. It takes you outside of yourself as you must generally concentrate entirely on the recipe and steps. Watch as the ingredients take a different shape and consistency at every stage. Make a double recipe to share and give some to a friend. Now marvel at the outcome and enjoy your efforts.
