Never Give Up
This statement applies to everything you are passionate about in your life. Never give up on yourself. Never give up on your dreams. Never give up on anything that you really want or anyone that you genuinely care about. If the path you are on isn’t working, take another one. You will regret it if you stop trying when you get frustrated or when it gets a bit hard. There could be a fitness goal that you have always wanted to achieve. Start with a more attainable goal and work your way up to that success. Dig deeper. Maybe what this saying means to you is a career aspiration that you have your sights on. Talk to your boss, if they will listen, and let them know what you want your future step to be and ask what they believe it would take to get there. No matter what they say, Never Give Up. You get one life. Make it the absolute best it can be by going after what you want and don’t give up until you get it.
SMALL TASK: REDO YOUR WORKOUT MUSIC I use an iPod for my workout music. You may use your phone or some other device. I find it helps boost the motivation to delete and add to the musical selection every so often. When you find you are drifting off while you are working out, then maybe it is time for a change. Make a different playlist or delete and add those tunes that will get you in the zone. Find the tune that best fits the exercise you are doing and set your rhythm to the beat. You will most likely find the exercise easier and be able to do more reps than you thought you could!
SMILE MAKER: GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE There is a quote that illustrate this so well. “Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” Do it. Try a new style, go to a restaurant or the movies by yourself, introduce yourself to someone you don’t know or finally give that manuscript to your boss to look at and critique. There are a million things that you normally don’t do or that you have always wanted to do. Take that step. You can just eat a new food or go bigger and start with a different morning beverage and go the whole day making decisions out of your comfort zone. It will be, no doubt, a bit awkward and it will also be liberating. Your comfort zone is a self-imposed restriction. Change it. Take away the boundaries you have put on yourself. Be willing and okay with being uncomfortable. It will eventually feel good as you move from the uneasy to the comfortable as you reach your new level. It may take time, but the results will be worth it. Those moments when you choose to grow are the most rewarding moments of all.
